McKinnon's Bride byd Tanya Anne Crosby

I finally finished this the other night and was somewhat please with the story. The only thing that I find I didn't like about the book was that it didn't carry the Scottish brogue throughout the book and the romantic scenes weren't, well they didn't give me any romantic feelings.

I liked Page very much. Although she is very broken emotionally, she tries to stand strong and not let anyone cower her; even the most feared highlander. When Page is kidnapped, she knows that she will not make it home. Her father doesn't want her and deep down fears that no one will ever want her.

Iian only wants his son back, so when he is stuck with Page and realizes he doesn't mind he doesn't understand. Being the most feared warrior in the highlands he isn't supposed to have a soft spot in his heart for a woman and especially not an English woman. Iian knows how it feels not to be wanted and finds a kindred spirit with Page.

They are both afraid to take a chance and let their hearts open up to each other, and both think that they can just take their pleasure and keep their hearts out of it.

I have read a lot of Highlander books and this one is not as in depth as far as invoking feelings whether it be good bad or sexual.

I gave this book 3 stars.

New book by Maya Banks...

Just heard that Maya Bank's book "Letting Go" is due to come out on 2/4/14. I didn't know that she wrote erotic novels, but I have always loved her writing and can't wait to see how she draws a reader in with this erotic contemporary novel.

If anyone has read any books like this from Maya, please let me know.

Thanks,
Keep Reading

Highlanders, enough said..(The Mckinnon's Bride)

I took a break from reading my all time favorite books because my daughter started telling me I was obsessed with the highlands of Scotland. I think it's been long enough! I've never read anything by Tanya Ann Crosby, but I have read some great reviews about "The McKinnon's Bride" and I'm anxious to get started.

Tomorrow is Sunday, and I believe it will be one of those days that I spend curled up with my comfortable blanket and lose myself in the highlands of Scotland.

My first post...Desert of the Damned

I'm a little behind on this book, but I wanted to start my blog. Desert of the Damned by Kathy Kulig is proving to be an interesting read. I love books about shape shifters, and this one has a bonus; Native American undertones. The Book starts out very erotic, and is a little confusing. However, now that I'm half way through, I'm enjoying this read.

Amy is in the middle of a battle that she doesn't know about and will be hard too understand. Dante is one of her bosses and she knows she shouldn't get involved. However, he is tall, has black hair just past his shoulders, and has that sexy Native American look. Amy thinks she has it made, a purely physical relationship with no strings. There's just one problem, they never really have sex and there are a lot of times when she feels she just doesn't have control of herself.

Then there's Jake, he's a park ranger, tall, and has that animal magnetism. Amy is comfortable with Jake and enjoys his company. Jake knows that Amy is in trouble and is determined to protect her.

People are starting to die and Amy has a feeling that somehow Dante is involved. Jake knows what's happening, but doesn't trust himself enough to believe what he sees. Will Jake be able to overcome the trauma of his past in order to embrace his future, and will Amy be able to let go and give her new home a chance? And what is really going on with Dante? Is he truly evil or is there something else going on with him?

I'm going too finish this book tonight and I'm anticipating an exciting ending to this paranormal romance.
