Visiting the Carpathian Mountains, Dark Wolf!!!!

***** Star Rating

I gave this rating because no matter how many books I read in this series I never get bored. The others within the race are always mentioned in some way or another but the main characters always have there own problems that they must deal with. This is one of the wonderful traits that [author:Christine Feehan|6268] uses in her novel to keep people coming back.

I have been waiting a long time for this book to come out; to see how Dimitri would handle Skyler, what type of problems they would encounter, how her father and uncles were going to handle it, and if she would finally give her birth father a chance.

I was so not disappointed in this book at all. At just nineteen, recruiting your two closest friends to mount a rescue mission is not something that Skyler studied in school, but she absolutely could not leave her lifemate Dimitri in the clutches of the Lycans. However, even with the seriousness of the mission Joseph keeps spirits high with his pranks and jokes.

Paul is not quite as bad with the jokes and pranks, and because he's human he's definitely not the muscle but he is definitely needed. All there of them have very dangerous family members and they are counting on that for the mission to be a success.

Although Dimitri and Skyler go through some difficult growing pains, Dimitri handles himself and their challenges with a type of strength that is rarely seen in men. Dimitri and Skyler's story has been greatly anticipated and believe me I was not disappointed.

This edition to the Carpathian series is full of laughs, action, anticipation, and a few tears. If you haven't been reading about the Carpathian's, I recommend that you start now. Of course, the books can be read alone, but I recommend reading them in order. This series is about a whole community and in order to have a better understanding exactly why something is either said or done, reading the entire series is a must. Don't despair though, you won't be disappointed.

Wulfe Untamed by Pamela Palmer

I love all the Feral Warriors and for Good Reason...

When I first got Desire Untamed I was excited to read a new author and my favorite sect odd the mythical races are the shifters.

I enjoyed the interaction Woulfe had with Natalie in his wolf form. The quiet strength and acceptance that Natalie showed thought the book.

It was wonderful to know the stories behind Woulfe's scares; not only the physical ones that are a constant reminder of the guilt, pain and loss. I found Woulfe's character engaging and always wanted to read more about him; who he was and what motivated him.

Natalie was a breathe of fresh air. Like most of the sisterhood she is intelligent and has a core of steal. I enjoyed the way her character embodied a quiet acceptance; however, she radiated strength and confidence without being stuck-up or cocky.

Having read all the novels in this series, I can honestly say that it's like picking up a letter from old friends relaying the adventures, sorrows, and victories. When I can completely lose myself in a book and not realize what time it is, I can smile and feel that relaxed content feeling I enjoy sho much.

If you enjoy shifters and you want to be drawn in to the story; feel the anticipation, sadness, joy and hope then this is a book that I would press into your hands and tell you your search is over.

His Wicked Games by Ember Casey

At what point is it considered erotica?

At first I thought this was going to be like all the other erotica books I've read, but this one was a little different. This rating was more because it made me think a little, but it also made me smile and had my heart beating faster, due to anticipation.

Calder's character is, yes, egotistical; but there's also another side to him and you get tiny glimpses of it as the story unfolds. Calder is also a very proud man and doesn't want anyone to see him as weak whether that is in perception or reality.

Lilly is trying to build herself back up after a bad relationship with Garrett, but is she being honest with herself. She's trying to gain money for her family's center, but is that what she's really doing?

I like the fact that Calder and Lilly don't just fall into bed together and I liked the fact that Lilly thought she would be able to control the games they played. It would have been more fun if she actually could have, but does anyone really lose those games when both parties are willing to play? :)

It would have been nice if Calder had to play the hero, but hey I'm a sucker for a knight in shining armor...

Yes this had a few great steamy scenes in it, but I wouldn't really call it erotica....

Turned by Morgan Rice

The story grabbed me right off the bat. I think because most of us can relate to the feeling of the nervousness of being the new kid in school.

I liked the fact that Caitlyn didn't know anything about what she was, and that she was somewhat intimidated by her new school in NY. The love that she has for her brother Sam is evident and I know that she just wants to be happy.

Getting kidnapped and then saved by Caleb feels like her saving grace, but is that real? What is going on with her life now and can she really be half vampire?

Caleb believes in her, but I can't help but wonder if there is someone else that is a part of this story. And can't wait to find out.

This is a great YA book, it's been a long time sense I've read one and this was a great come back for me..

New Beginnings and shifters, it seems that's what they're good at...

This book is by Brandi L. Rivers.

I'm not to sure what to say, this was the typical shifter story. An alpha looking for a mate, or not; and a female that doesn't wish to bend. I guess I'm getting too cynical because a few years ago I would have thought this a great book.

I liked the dynamic of the story, I just didn't find the interactions of the characters to be very in depth. Even the love scenes were bland. I'm not an expert, but I would think that if an alpha kept getting hot then cold, wanting you then not, and doors being slammed in his face he wouldn't be that patient.

I think this is a good book to start out on, especially before reading some of the other shifter and vampire books I've read.

Eternal Breath of Darkness by Candice Stauffer

A journey taken by a demon to atone his mistakes...

Four stars because of how the story was told. Following Hayden as he tries to win the love and trust of his mate, Caylee, while her best friend, Mia, protects her viciously.

I liked that this story had a lot of twists and turns. Four woman as close as sisters and a few have certain abilities; this fact is what will make the next book a little more interesting. Mia doesn't know it yet but instead of having just one man after her, she will have two; and they are both Alpha's in there own right.

Because of the way Hayden courted Caylee, she finally learns to trust what she has with Hayden. But will the vampire, Paul, that is obsessed with Caylee win in the end or will Hayden be able to save her? In order for Hayden to save Caylee, his love for her must be stronger than his natural instincts.

Having a new twist on demons and the characters that are portrayed in this book is what drew my attention; the subtle way the other characters were given life, the pain and fear that I could feel from Caylee, and the cliffhanger ending is what kept me reading.

If you're looking for a good read involving alpha males and strong women needing to overcome their pasts to find eternal love, than this book is for you.

Skinwalkers: Bad Moon Rising (SO KEWL)

This is the first time that I've read anything by Lorraine Kennedy, and  with Skinwalkers I'm presently surprised.

In this book, the paranormal is based on Native American lore; the Navajo to be exact. This is the second book I've read with a Native American slant, and I'm finding that I enjoy the mystical edge that it gives the story.

Mya wants to become a policewoman and goes to Arizona to spend the
summer with her uncle Donny to gain practical experience. When the killing started, her uncle started telling her about Skinwalkers, Sinapo, and Dineh; all connected to the Navajo reservation.

Mya is having a hard time handling her uncle not giving her straight answers to her questions. When Donny says anything to Mya about the murders or about her own life, it always seems to revolve around their small town and the legends of the Navajo.

Knowing that her life is about to change in a dramatic way, Mya wants to get information from David. David is mysterious and illusive, and somehow connected to the legends as well. However, David keeps giving her the run around too. Mya is confused about a lot of things, but
she knows that David is connected to her and whatever is going on with the murders.

Mya's confusion about who she is, what she has to do with the murders, and her connection with David is starting to get to her, and with what Trent has told her, she is starting to think she may finally get some answers.

David knows exactly who Mya is and what she means for him; and he knows that staying away from her is going to be impossible. He has a sacred duty that he must uphold or the people will suffer. But sense Mya is more like her mother, does that change the prophecy?

Mya is supposed to be killed, but will David allow that to happen regardless of what the prophecy says?

I enjoyed the way this story was told. They're quite a few twists that are well placed within the story to create shock, anger and an undying love. I only noticed one or two typos. Other than that, the book was great.

If you like the paranormal and Native American lore, then you will enjoy this book a great deal. Lorraine, you've done a great job.
